Scars

Scars are a natural part of the body’s healing process. When the skin is damaged, the body produces new tissue to repair the area, close the wound, and support recovery. This new tissue is known as scar tissue and is made mainly of collagen.

What Are Scars?

Scars can develop in many shapes and sizes and may result from injury, burns, surgery, acne, or certain illnesses. Some scars are small and barely noticeable, while others may be raised, uneven, discoloured, or more visible depending on their type and location.

Over time, many scars fade naturally, but some may remain more prominent. In some cases, scars can also feel uncomfortable or affect movement if they form over joints or larger areas of the body.

Certain individuals may also be more prone to developing keloid scars, which are raised scars that extend beyond the original area of injury.

Do Scars Always Need Treatment?

Not all scars require treatment, and many improve in appearance over time. However, if a scar is affecting your confidence, causing discomfort, or limiting movement, treatment may help improve its appearance and overall texture.

How Common Are Scars?

Scars are extremely common and can affect almost anyone, whether from an accident, a medical procedure, acne, or a previous skin condition.

Treatments Include:

  • Cool Laser
  • RF Microneedling
